WORKSHOPS

The coming together of women for workshops to make banners, design posters, work out performances or do other work towards the event, is a special part of the process of preparing for the night.

Albury's week of activities

“A really valuable thing to do, as women met other women through being involved in events and activities, and it encourages them to go to the march as they then know other women who are going.”

They had film nights, discussions, badge making (some women made badges and wore them all week and some left them for others to wear.)

Borrowed films from Victorian Lending Library;  organised through Charles Sturt University film group.

TIP: if local library is a member then should be free (Victoria also auspicing National Film Lending Library

“It's a safe way for women to be educated about issues and a way to take part in a week where women are saying sexual assault is not OK”

“For some people a march is not OK. It's too political and not their style.”   Trish, Albury
